Volunteering

Goals:

• To STRENGTHEN THE PRO-LIFE CONVICTION of club members. They get excited and more passionate when they see that they are helping save lives in a more observable manner by volunteering.
• To SAVE LIVES.

Preliminary notes:

- You can contact these places with your ideas on volunteering or donating and also be open to hearing what needs these different organizations have and see if your club can help out. These are great opportunities for team-building and also to renew your sense of dedication to the pro-life cause.
- Try to have these volunteering activities regularly such as once a month, weekly, or every two weeks. But if you think the club prefers to try different volunteering activities during the semester/year, do that instead.

Things to remember:

  • Be kind to every person you speak to including workers.

  • If people yell at you, keep your cool, and do not engage them in arguments. They may be distracting you from your purpose.

  • Don’t carry the weight with you.

  • Know that you make a difference.

Other suggestions:

- Work on getting several members trained in sidewalk counseling so you always have counselors available within your club.

- Every member should be trained in how to talk to pregnant women who are abortion minded as well as women who have had abortions.

- This is an activity you could probably coordinate along with a youth group at your church as well.
